Floyd's Tire and Car Care Center (actual corporate name is Mike Gabriel's Auto Repair dba) has been at this location since as early as 1929 although at that time it was not so much of a repair facility as a supply store for home and auto. It was opened by Mr. Richard Floyd and under his control until 1963 when he retired. He was succeeded by Jack Bardol who ran the business until 1987 when he passed away. In 1988 Mike Gabriel and his wife Bo purchased the building and with Mrs. Floyd's permission retained the original name. Prior to Floyd's Mike had his training at the Sunoco on St. Charles Rock Road, which he owned and ran with his wife.

Mike believes in keeping up with the fast paced technology of today and his employees attend all the training classes available for the current models as well as being trained to service and repair older models. The facility is named as one of the recognized emission repair facilities under the current State emission policy and employs ASE certified technicians.

It is believed that Floyd's is one of the first two BF Goodrich tire stores in the St. Louis area.
